“Bradley Wheeler captured exceptional architectural photographs of our Bank of China Head Office Tower in Beijing, to our great satisfaction, especially because this building holds deep personal significance for our family. His photograph was used on the cover of a prominent Chinese magazine for an article regarding my father, I. M. Pei.

Bradleyʼs inspiring and descriptive imagery reflected the spirit and essence of the collaborative work that my brother, Didi, and I did with our father, and emphasized the most important elements of our architecture—form, context, space and light.

We greatly commend Bradley for his admirable work and look forward to future collaborations.”

“Bradley Wheelerʼs recent photography of the Petersen Automotive Museum captured precisely the essence of our design, and resulted in the projectʼs first two magazine covers. The setting sun on the buildingʼs metallic façade coupled with the glowing lights of the cars speeding past clearly speaks to the nature of the building. We are very impressed with the photography and would gladly have Bradley photograph our buildings in the future."

Trent Tesch, AIA, Design Principal

“We have worked with Bradley for several decades on his presentations of our residential projects to various European outlets.

Bradley is an excellent architectural photographer and writer: professional, creative, and detailed. His work provided us with stunning accuracy, truly giving light to the design and passion behind the project.”

"Bradley Wheeler is the rare architectural photographer whose knowledge of architecture and interest in photography pushes him beyond simply capturing a building's physical properties in beautiful photographs. Bradley understands that architecture is not only the initially perceived components but, more importantly, the space, the light, and the people as they interact with the architecture. His keen understanding of these qualities is evident in the images and words that Bradley creates.

Over the last ten years, I and other colleagues at Steinberg Hart have had the pleasure and luck to have Bradley present some of our architectural projects in photography and text. His clear focus and persistence express our projects' forms, context, and details. His efforts have resulted in our work being published in prestigious international publications."

“Bradley: I wanted to write you and let you know how much we have appreciated your work in regard to the publication of our projects. Your contacts internationally have allowed us access to a diverse selection of magazines and worldwide venues. Such international exposure in a variety of fine magazines from diverse countries has been terrific. We have particularly appreciated the exposure in Asia where we had not previously made contacts. Needless to say this has been very helpful to the practice. We wanted to thank you again for all your hard work in this regard.”

“Brad Wheeler's photography and architectural writing strikes a wonderful balance of conveying the “big picture,” while also revealing the quiet detail and underlying significance of a project.

Brad's first photography for us in 2004 was prominently featured in the New York Times and Architecture Record as well as in publications in Italy, South America and Asia. Since then his photography and writing, two opposing skill sets in one, has enhanced our most important projects and has been instrumental in our winning numerous local and national design awards.

We look forward to collaborating with Brad again soon.”

“As an architect who has enjoyed a 40-year plus career, I know a lot of architectural photographers.

Most of them are very good.
Most of them are very expensive.
Most of them do not have direct lines to publishers.

Brad Wheeler, on the other hand, is very good, affordable and seems to have a unique relationship with many magazine editors around the world. Great combination!

Just as importantly, Brad is wonderful to work with on a shoot. He listens and he teaches. I have learned so much from him about the nuances of photographing architecture, or rather, photographing the light on architecture. Mr. Wheeler is as reliable as he is organized and it seems to me, he never stops moving.

I would encourage any architect interested in putting their firmʼs “best foot forward” to consider Mr. Brad Wheeler for professional architectural photography."

Eddie Jones, FAIA, Founding Principal

“Brad Wheeler is an excellent architectural photographer. Having photographed several of our projects across varying building types, his understanding of and sensitivity to design, materials, and integration with site allows him to create wonderful compositions that expertly capture the spirit and design intent.

His genuine enthusiasm towards each project he photographs compliments both his passion for photography and enduring devotion to architecture. He is professional and efficient - it is always a pleasure to work with Brad!”

“Bradley Wheeler has a wonderful way of writing about contemporary architecture that is accessible to architects and non-architects alike. His photography syncs with his writing and helps convey our projects in a clearly understandable and passionate way. His ability to provide us international exposure has added a new dimension to our reputation.”

Using his unique combination of talents, his articles invariably communicate the most meaningful qualities and accomplishments of a project, as well as, capturing especially informative and compelling images. “I have been working with Bradley Wheeler for the past 3 years. He has been photographing my architectural projects and preparing them for international publication.

Bradley Wheeler exemplifies the talent, skill and extraordinary professionalism that is required in his field. He has established himself as a premier architectural writer and photographer supported by his training and knowledge of our profession.

I have recommended Bradley to my colleagues here in Arizona and he has been successful in working with quite a few of them. It is an honor and privilege to be given the opportunity to offer my support and recommendation.”

“We asked Brad Wheeler to photograph the Cathedral Square Conference and Education Center located in Tucson, Arizona as we felt he would capture the story and communicate the intent of the design.

The images Brad produced were stunning and incorporated the design elements that reflect the architecture, strong cultural traditions of the Catholic Church and context of adjacent historic structures dating back over 100 years.

Brad was easy to work with and didnʼt mind us being a part of his photo shoot. He listened carefully to our comments and as we described architectural features we wanted included.

We look forward to the next project that Brad will photograph for us.”

“Our first magazine cover was of Bradley's photograph. The combination of his writing about and photographing the Villaraigosa Pavilion (Tom Bradley International Terminal, Los Angeles International Airport) was a real plus. Itʼs unusual to get that kind of consistent, holistic view of our work—when the images and narrative express our goals together.”

David Montalba, AIA, Founding Principal

“Bradley photographed our ʻoff-useʼ project two different times, three years apart, and captured unique views of the project each time. The project has both won awards and been published through Bradleyʼs photography, including being featured in the California HOME+DESIGN centerfold. ʻOff-useʼ is my own office and home, so I was able to watch Bradley at work. Bradley is dedicated to his craft, has a keen eye and is a pleasure to spend time with!”

Bradley made great decisions about how, what and when to shoot and was tireless about getting the best images possible. He's a pleasure to work with.”

“Bradley Wheeler possesses the benefit of writing articles about the modern architecture he photographs. The quality images he took for us precisely communicate the design intent. His article guides the reader through the project and successfully highlights important aspects helpful in evaluating our work.”

“Bradley, congratulations...your photography has perfectly captured our new museum, better than any other work done by anyone, professional or amateur. In fact we love it so much we're using it as our post card in our museum store, in advertising in several magazines and in two of our new gallery books "Precious Metal" and "Rolling Sculpture!"

Topping all this off. we just got copies of the Italian magazine OFARCH in which your photography not only got the cover but a whole spread inside of the museum's interior. Our hats are off to you Bradley...we're deeply grateful that you have graced us with your talents in capturing what the media now has dubbed ʻThe world's greatest automotive museum!ʼ All the very best to you. We look forward to working with you long into the future.”
